Larkspur
Larkspur is a common name for several species of flowering plants in the genus Consolida, in the family Ranunculaceae. They are native to Europe and Asia, but have been widely cultivated and naturalized in other regions. They are also known as annual delphiniums. They have tall spikes of blue, pink, purple, red, or white flowers with five petals and a spur. Larkspur is an annual plant that grows best in part sun, well-drained soil, and cool conditions. It blooms from spring to summer and makes excellent cut flowers. Larkspur is toxic if ingested, so it should be planted away from children and animals.
